Flare Efficiency by Dr. Larry Kostiuk http://www.mece.ualberta.ca/groups/combustion/

The draft Western Canada Study on Animal and Human Health Effects Associated with Exposure to Flare Emmisions document outlines a proposed study plan to examine the potential effects of flare emissions on animal and human health. The proposed plan has six research elements which are discussed in the document: Ambient Air Quality Characterization Downwind of Flare Emissions, Human Exposure and Health Risk Assessment, Health Effects on Beef Cattle of Chronic Exposure to Flare Emissions,Health Effects on Wildlife (Birds) of Chronic Exposure to Flare Emissions, Reproductive Toxicology of Flare Emissions, and Potential Biomarkers of Flare Emissions in Beef. Some results could be available in the fall of 2002, however a final study report would not be available until late 2006.
